# ToolPrize Just Launched on Product Hunt

We shipped ToolPrize to Product Hunt on September 22, 2026. If you're a solo builder, side-hustler, or indie maker who's tired of AI tool "reviews" that read like press releases, this post explains what we're building and why.

# The problem: AI tool reviews you can't trust

Search "best AI writing tool" and you get a wall of listicles. Most are affiliate-padded — they rank whatever pays the highest commission, bury the caveats, and invent benchmarks nobody reproduced. For a one-person business deciding where to spend $20 a month, that's expensive noise.

We got tired of it. So we built ToolPrize around one rule:

Every review is either hands-on tested by us, or clearly labeled "based on official docs and published reviews, not independently tested." No fake benchmarks. No affiliate-padding.
